  Buckram and Net Forms

In the nineteenth century, bonnet forms supported silk fashion bonnets.  Willow or pasteboard supported early silk bonnets.  Buckram, net, and covered wire replaced pasteboard and willow by the mid-1850s.

We have several different options to suit your needs. All of our forms are machine sewn, blocked, wired, and bound.

  • All Buckram-An affordable form with a period correct shape.

  •  Buckram Headpiece with a Net Brim-A buckram headpiece and crown with a net brim (recommended for mid19th century)

  • All Net-For sheer or summer bonnets
